Terry O’Brien, Barringtons Vetting Officer and Volunteer Treasurer at Large

Barringtons Staff Volunteer Efforts at Royal Australian Signals Corps (Army) et al.

Terry O'Brien is one of our Vetting Officers based in our Canberra office. He volunteers as Treasurer for three organisations, the Royal Australian Signals Corps (Army) Certa Cito Foundation, the Australian Art and Decorative Fine Arts Society Canberra Inc (ADFAS) and the Order of Australia Inc.

He has been with the Certa Cito Foundation since 1996 and while he was originally involved in planning and preparation of their 75th anniversary, he now works on funding histories of the Army Signal Corps and the collection of certain memorials.

Terry has been volunteering with the Order of Australia Inc. since 1981. Their aims are to foster love of and pride in Australian citizenship and to promote good citizenship by example, by encouragement, and by:

-awards to individuals, institutions and organisations which operate in Australia to alleviate poverty, promote harmony, or otherwise benefit communities in Australia; and

-encouraging continuing meritorious appointments to and awards of the Order of Australia and upholding the high principles and prestige of the Australian System of Honours and Awards.

They also encourage the development and maintenance of a constructive and positive sense of national unity amongst Australians and promote awareness in the Australian community of Australia’s history, its national institutions, traditions and culture. More info
